Here at Tyax there is a trail for everyone from our easy walking interpretive trail through the forest and along the lakeshore to easily accessible high elevation hikes through the wildflower carpeted alpine meadows. Whatever the trail you will experience an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife.
So, to help our guests learn more about what is in our forest, we constructed a 2.5 km self-guided interpretive nature trail.
It starts with an informative kiosk where local trails, flora and fauna, and wildlife are identified.
Hiking this nature trail, you will find 36 interpretive signs explaining what you are looking at. You will see rare Pileated Woodpecker holes in 500 year old Douglas Firs, to active beaver dams and bear markings, and will return with a good understanding of our natural environment.
