Cliff Umpleby

Cliff is an ACMG certified ski guide. Cliff has been guiding for over a decade with winters spent guiding ski tours and as a lead guide Heliskiing and Summers spent mountain bike guiding and mountaineering. His guiding career has taken him from the European Alps, to the glaciers of Kluane National Park and Mount Logan. Cliff has also guided expeditions in the Canadian Rockies as well as the Coast Ranges. Cliff's enthusiasm for the outdoors spills into all aspects of his life. Whether he’s flying downhill on a mountain bike, or standing atop a snowy peak, Cliff finds a certain perspective and fulfillment in the beauty of the outdoors. There’s nothing Cliff would rather do than spend time with people who share this connection to the natural world
Dale Douglas
Pilot and Owner - Tyax Air
Dale has been successfully operating aircrafts since 1985. He has experience working for one of Canada's highly regarded corporate flight operations and flying a variety of aircraft, from flying boats to corporate jets
Dale is also an avid outdoorsman; he has been involved with mountain biking since 1981. He competed professionally and spent time coaching for the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association, before retiring after winning the Canadian Nationals in 1998, in the Veteran Expert-Cross Country Category.
Presently, Dale is using his capacity as owner of Tyax Air Service to share his knowledge of the backcountry of British Columbia with travelers and explorers from all corners of the globe.
Claire Kendrick
Web Marketing and Mountain Bike Guide
Claire moved to BC from the UK to pursue her passion for the Canadian backcountry as a qualified mountain bike guide. She also looks after the web marketing and social networks for Tyax Wilderness Resort all year round.
There is nothing Claire likes more than showing visitors to the area the vast expanse of trails and scenery they can access from a mountain bike and seeing the grins on their faces at the end of an epic ride.
Shanna Selinger
Sales and Marketing
Shanna is an outgoing individual whose dramatic passion for the outdoors and people is reflected in her everyday life and her work. Bringing with her over 10 years of tourism and ski industry experience, she is excited to express to past and new guests alike the reason that she lives at Tyax Wilderness Resort and why they should be here too. An avid skier and snowboarder in the winter, and a multi sport recreationalist is the spring, summer, and fall, Shanna is delighted to be a part of this incredible adventure.
Katharina Geyer
Reservations & Office Manager
Kat is originally from Germany and has spent several years studying adventure tourism and hospitality in Kamloops, BC before joining Tyax Wilderness Resort. Kat is most often the first voice guests hear when booking their adventure at Tyax Wilderness Resort. Kat loves to snowboard all winter and hike the BC trails in the Summer.
Allison Hunter
Massage Therapist
Allison joined the Tyax team in 2010 after 4 years of serving our Winter Heliskiing guests as a concierge and massage therapist. She is qualified and experienced in a wide range of massage therapies and is also a Yoga instructor. She is key in ensuring our guests are rejuvenated during their stay.
Jonathan Carmel

Jo has been bringing culinary delights of the highest standard to the tables at Tyax resort since 2006. Born and raised in Quebec he attended culinary schools in Quebec and Montreal before completing 2 internships on the French Riviera. His culinary success eminates from his passion and love of food. His menus always receive high praise from our guests.
