Tyax COVID-19 Response

Dear Friends and Fans of Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing,

As we remain fully committed to the health, safety, and well-being of both our guests and our staff at Tyax Lodge, we are closely and actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are conforming to the guidelines put forth by the federal and provincial governments, local health officials, and the World Health Organization.

Winter 2021

November 26th, 2020 update

At long last, the team here at Tyax has made the difficult decision to suspend operations this winter for our 2021 heliski season.  We resisted as long as possible to make the final decision but unfortunately, with Covid-19 cases surging both in Canada and abroad, we needed to make the most responsible decision to do our part to slow/halt the spread.  As well, BC’s own Provincial Health Director, Dr. Bonnie Henry has recently issued a no-travel recommendation for people in and around BC and Canada.   Our responsibilities are two-fold; keep all our longtime fans healthy, and to not expose our employees to an unsafe working environment.

On a more positive note, we are actively encouraging our heliski guests to get their reservations in early for 2022.  None of our 2021 guests canceled their trips but have instead rolled over their reservations to 2022, so we anticipate that with the pent up demand which we are sure to see, our sales team recommends you secure your spots early……so that you won’t miss another awesome heliski season at Tyax.

We, along with the rest of the world, are reading the increasing and optimistic news that a vaccination is around the corner.  We add our voice to the ever-growing encouragement to the medical communities that are working tirelessly to ensure our return to the “normal” we hold dear.   Let’s all do our part, so that we can once again listen to the roar of the helicopter blades, and the silence of the pristine mountains surrounding us.

August 7th, 2020 update

Our ‘no questions asked’ refund policy has now been extended until  November 30, 2020. Any new heliski reservation deposit (or payments) are 100% refundable until that date. As from December 1, 2020, our regular cancellation policy will apply however, as there will not be 90 days prior to arrival, payment options will be at the discretion of the Reservations and Sales Manager.

After November 30, 2020, if a guest cannot travel for their 2021 heliski trip due to travel restrictions imposed by his/her country and/or Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tyax will credit the full amount paid toward a future trip with us. This credit will be valid for one season.

July 15th, 2020 update

Also, considering the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adjusted our 2021 booking policies to help ease the decision-making process for our guests that wish to book an upcoming heliski adventure here at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing.

We have introduced a ‘no questions asked’ refund policy effective until September 30, 2020. Any new heliski reservation deposit (or payments) are 100% refundable until that date. As of October 1, 2020, our regular cancellation policy will apply (note balance payments remain fully refundable until 90 days prior to arrival date).

After September 30, 2020, if a guest cannot travel for their 2021 heliski trip due to travel restrictions imposed by his/her country and/or Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tyax will credit the full amount paid toward a future trip with us. This credit will be valid for one season and is non-transferable.

For all other existing reservations, we have relaxed our cancellation policy during this time and are working with guests on a case-by-case basis.
